How to create a Glossy Text Effect in Photoshop

Open a new document in Photoshop. Size maintain between 1152 x 864 pixels. Foreground and background will be #5e4a3f and #271509. From the Gradient tool option bar select Linear Gradient Icon. From top to bottom in the canvas drag it.

Now add noise through go to Filter to Noise and Add Noise. The amount will be 1 also select the Gaussian distribution.

Now write a text on the canvas. With the font of RiotSquad and font color is #c7c7c7 and font size will 365.

Copy this text layer. Change the duplicate’s fill value at 0. After that, duplicate this copy layer.

Go to Layer style or double click on Layer to apply the below Layer style.

Bevel and Emboss

Structure: Style – Inner Bevel, Technique – Smooth, Depth – 30%, Direction – UP, Size – 15px, Soften – 0%.

Shading: Angles – 120 degree, Altitude at 30 degree. Highlight Mode – Vivid Light with # e0e0e0 and Opacity – 75%, Shadow Mode Multiply with # 4f3a11 and Opacity – 75%,

Then press OK.

Inner Shadow

Structure: Set Blend Mode to Multiply with color #78614b, Opacity – 75%, Angle at (120) degree, Distance – 0px, Spread – 0%, Size 16px.

Quality: Noise – 0% and Contour.

Pattern Overlay

Pattern: Blend Mode atNormal, Opacity at 100% Pattern – Snap to Origin, Scale – 100% also Link with Layer.

Here have to confirm by Click OK.

Drop Shadow

Structure: Set Blend Mode to multiply with color #804d2e, Opacity – 75%,

Angle at 120 degree, Distance set to 7px, spread of 10%, Size is 10px.

Quality: Contour, Noise – 0% and Contour.

Now press OK.

This will create marble textured effect on the text.

Again double click on the 1st copy text layer for the following setting

Bevel and Emboss

Structure: Style – Inner Bevel, Technique – Smooth, Depth – 30%, Direction – UP, Change Size – 16px, Soften – 0%.

Shading: Angles – 120 degree and un-check the use Global, Altitude at 30 degree. Highlight Mode – Vivid Light, Opacity – 75%, Shadow Mode Multiply with # 393939 and Opacity – 75%,

Then press OK.

Contour

Elements: Range 50% and Anti-aliased (Half Round).

Texture

Elements: MMarble Pattern, Scale at 100%, Depth – (+242%) and Link with Layer.

These add simply 3D texture on the Pattern.

Then again right click on the 1st copy text, next click on 2nd and select paste Layer Style.

Bevel and Emboss

Structure: Style – Inner Bevel, Technique – Smooth, Depth – 100%, Direction – UP, Change Size – 40px, Soften – 0%.

Shading: Angles – 45 degree and un-check the use Global, Altitude at 74 degree. Highlight Mode – Vivid Light, Opacity – 75%, Shadow Mode Multiply and Opacity – 75%,

Then press OK.

By these we can see a glossy top layer.

In this step take the rush Tool. Choose a 15px and hard round Brush. Then set foreground color of #a5a5a5. On all of Layers create a new Layer. Named it as D, apply the following settings on this Layer.

Bevel and Emboss

Structure: Style – Inner Bevel, Technique – Chisel Hard, Depth – 100%, Direction – UP, Size – 5px, Soften – 0%.

Shading: Angles – 120 degree use Global Light, Altitude at 30 degree. Highlight Mode – Linear Light and Opacity – 75%, Shadow Mode at Multiply and Opacity – 35%,

Then press OK.

Contour

Elements: Range 50% and Anti-aliased.

Texture

Elements: Concrete wall 2, Scale at 100%, Depth (+508%) and Link with Layer.

Drop Shadow

Structure: Set Blend Mode to multiply with color #804d2e, Opacity – 55%,

Angle at 120 degree, select Global Light, Distance set to 5px, spread of 0%, Size is 5px.

Quality: Contour, Noise – 0%, Contour and Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow.

Now press OK.

Through use of brush tool add some Dots to create diamond. The tutorial is ready.
